In any democracy, elections are a key component. They offer citizens the opportunity to choose their representatives and provide a way for the population to hold their government accountable. Elections allow for change and ensure that each individual has a voice in the decisions made by their country’s leaders. This is why all citizens need to participate in elections, regardless of political affiliation<\/a>. By voting, individuals can say who represents them and how the country is run. So, make sure you get out and cast your vote on Election Day!<\/p>\n
Elections are important for democracy because they allow citizens to decide who represents them in government. If citizens did not have a way of voting for representatives, whoever was running the government would remain in power indefinitely. People would be excluded from having a say in how their country is run. Unfortunately, in some countries, such as North Korea or Cuba, elections do not take place or only include one candidate on the ballot paper.
